Hello, Fr. Victor –
How are you doing, my brother in the Passion? I observe that you have adopted a different format in recent months for this blog. I no longer see the daily video sentiments that used to be 3-5 minutes in duration. So, naturally, I’m wondering how you’re doing.
Please know I keep you in my prayers for your health and well-being. You are a treasure to the Province and to the Jamaica community. I’m sorry I’m not in closer proximity to Jamaica so as to visit you periodically. Baltimore is a good 200 miles “down the road”, so to speak. I keep in touch with Paul Wierichs through Facebook, and with Bill Murphy via e-mail and the occasional phone call.
I used to keep in regular contact with my longtime brother and friend, Gus Lowe, but the Lord has taken him from us and he has gone home to eternity. I miss him very much.
My classmate, Justin Kerber, informed me that he went to Rome for the General Chapter with the Provincial. I see we have a new Father General. Congratulations to him and to the Congregation.
I also keep in touch with my other classmates, and especially with Jack Leber, whom you know, and with his wife Barbara. They have a high regard for you, a fellow New Jersey-ite.
You may know that the Leber Funeral Home, renowned for three generations in Union City, has been sold to Dignity Memorial which has closed the business. Jack and Barbara had to move and are in the process of deciding on where their new permanent home will be. Right now, they’re living with one of their daughters< Kristen, who is a Funeral Director in Elizabeth, NJ
For now, take care, dear Fr. Victor, and I keep you in my prayers for continued success in your ministry and for your physical health.
May the blessings of Advent accompany you as we prepare again for the coming of the Lord Jesus at Christmas, in our daily meetings with Him in the Eucharist, and await his eventual coming in the last days.
May the Passion of Jesus Christ be always in our hearts! I hope to see you one of these days when I can get to Jamaica. I copied myself on this e-mail. That is a valid working e-mail address for me.
Fraternally in JXP,
John Mark Thomas
