Waiting 4 Replies In our Mary Garden this morning, all’s covered with light snow. Mother and Child share the blanket covering trees and plants and ground. Somewhere a car horn; someone’s stuck in traffic. But mostly soft silence here as snow fall quietly. Waiting. Bare Trees The trees stand gray and leafless the ground lies cold and white the glory that was autumn sleeps ‘til winter turns to spring But bare trees let the sky show through and empty waits for full the heart that braves old winter’s chill will know the warmth of spring Gloria Ziemienski 1991 LikeLike
Isabel January 18, 2019 at 5:24 pm Thank you Fr. Victor and Gloria. You lifted my spirit from Chicago’s nonspiring snow. God willing I hope to visit Mary’s Garden in spring. LikeLike
cenaclemary12 January 18, 2019 at 8:34 pm Quiet flakes fall. No two alike. Clean cover for city scapes Tree branches bare white. No need to shovel. Rising temps melt snow away. Until tomorrow’s stormy blast when more will fall. Enough to build a snowman for fun play. LikeLike

Bare Trees
The trees stand gray and leafless
the ground lies cold and white
the glory that was autumn sleeps
‘til winter turns to spring
But bare trees let the sky show through
and empty waits for full
the heart that braves old winter’s chill
will know the warmth of spring
